In June of 2004 we sponsored a Rider in the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Church Wagon Races.
Seizing the opportunity to give back to the community that gives so much to us, we presented "Cactus Communications Chuck Wagon Chowdown"
The Cactus Communications Chuckwagon Chowdown held on June 11, 2004 was a huge success and raised nearly $14,000.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society! Events done in raising the money included: a silent auction, BBQ Beef Lunch, Tim Horton's coffee and donuts proceeds, a garage sale, and head shaving event pledges.
The success of the event was definitely in part due to the phenomenal donated support from local media including: Medicine Hat News, Oyen Echo, Jay Hitchen from the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group and his on-air crew including morning men Jim Duce on New Country 1270 Chat & Chris Savage on MY 96 who even showed up at the event to help out!
